Founding History and Journey

The founding story of Invensis Technologies Pvt Ltd begins in the year 1998, when Vara Prasad Rongala, a successful entrepreneur, conceived the idea of starting a BPO services company. He partnered with Joshua Barton, a Jewish American with similar interests and visions which led to the formation of Virtual Tech Solutions. A five member founding team set up an office in Chicago and a delivery center in Bangalore, India. This company was offering CAD/CAM Services and was soon able to build a strong presence and client-base for its sustenance.

During about the same period, another visionary Prasad Rao started a company called Kotnani Infotech based around the idea of providing BPO services. Previously, he had been engaged in founding and managing a typesetting and graphic design startup called MAP Systems, which had seen a decent growth and strong global client base. The vision of providing offshore business process outsourcing solutions had been dominating his thoughts, and he made the right decision at the right time to venture into this industry.

It was the year 2000 when these two companies (Virtual Tech Solutions and Kotnani Infotech) merged to form Invensis Technologies Pvt Ltd. The initial delivery center was erected in Bangalore, which still houses the headquarters of this company. Invensis started its journey with offering Document Management services to overseas clients, most of which were courthouses in the US. This was closely coupled with Litigation Support Services and Invensis started to foster a strong and satisfied clientele.

Invensis was swift and continual with expansion and diversification of its service offerings, right from the initial years and this streak continues till today. In the early years, Invensis focused not only on expanding the reach of its primary services while procuring deep domain expertise, but also realized the importance of branching out into other services related to the BPO industry. Soon after starting up, other services like Invoice Processing, Healthcare Services, Finance and Accounting Services, Call Center Services and IT Services started featuring into the list of offerings by Invensis.

The first real breakthrough came in the year 2004 when Invensis formed an offshore alliance with R+L Carriers, one of the largest shipping companies of the world, with a service area spanning all the states of US along with US Virgin Islands, Canada, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Invensis has been handling all invoice processing and document digitization for this company ever since, which includes bill of lading, freight billing and freight payment pre and post audits. This has been a valuable alliance for both parties with R+L Carriers benefitting from best quality services with considerable cost savings and Invensis getting a boost in its already accelerating growth rate.

Over the years, Invensis has served more than 500 clients and has grown to a team of 1200+ people. During this journey, Invensis has also worked on quite a few Government projects starting with Parishkaram, a call center sited in Hyderabad for the Andhra Pradesh Government. The company also executed a project with Goa Electronics Ltd. Recently, Invensis was in the news for bagging a 600 seater project in Data Management with Southern Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh Limited (APSPDCL).

Invensis has been growing steadily over the last many years, and even during the infamous global recession of 2008, this company witnessed escalation, expansion and acceleration. In the past few years, a number of milestones have catapulted Invensis to a revered position among the pioneers of the BPO industry. With the excellent leadership and guidance that this company has, we envision this remarkable journey to continue and lead to even better destinations in the future.
